Thank you for sharing this. Your camera picks up details really well. Some of your shots of the mountains and big cities looked almost 3D. Was wonderful. When I was about 12 years old I rode the train from Detroit Michigan, to Chicago and then into Los Angeles California. On the same Amtrak Trains. This was back in the late 1960s...which goes to show how old our trains are in the U.S. We were in economy seating which worked out fine.

That Mexican guy was on a service I took two hears ago. Bit too much schtick & not enough service. Seems to think his work is an audition. Amtrak has a history of service and professionalism to try and regain, if they want continued funding. His way is not the right one.

Amtrak is subsidized with Federal and State funding, in other words, your tax money at work. So Amtrak has NO pressure to actually be profitable, or efficient, or to give a damn about their customer. The only way to improve Amtrak is to cut off all subsidies and let them compete in the free market.

What a great trip, from East Coast to West Coast by Amtrak. Yeah, Lake Shore Limited is the fastest way by train from New York to Chicago via Upstate New York, but if you want more scenic, take the Cardinal. Unfortunately you got the older generation of bedroom, which some part is "beatboxing". Something interesting to see when you boarding the California Zephyr is the train announcement. Rockies area never disappointed, and also it's great to mention all natural landscape around California Zephyr route.
